The AWEA are thrilled to be able to again shine a light on the best of the West this Fringe through the West Village activation. As locals and friends of the West, we hope you will help us and get behind our West End Fringe venues in 2023 by sharing West Village events with your audiences and networks. There is so much to enjoy from Hades Hula House to Hindley St Music Hall, Light Adelaide and Fringe legends Arthur Art Bar. Fringe in the West is different from the rest and that’s the way we like it.
AWEA Played a significant role in the original ideation, development, and delivery of the Inaugural Fringe West Village concept through Committee Members Taren Hocking and Andrew Wallace who were both part of the original West Village Collective Committee.
Through financial contributions and directly covering costs for social media management AWEA was the largest financial contributor of the collective, cementing our commitment to directly addressing the drain to the East experienced by West End vendors during peak festival periods.
The success of the inaugural West Village campaign in 2022 saw over 12,000 tickets sold to West Village Fringe shows. AWEA wanted to ensure the momentum continued and in 2023 worked with Fringe to make it free for any venue in the West End to be part of the West Village brand campaign to collectively draw focus to the Fringe events in the West End.
All participating venues were provided with a dedicated Fringe West Village Landing page, West Village window decals, activation and street signage with support from the City of Adelaide through the West End and its perimeters, as well as a social media campaign managed by West End PR gurus The GAT Agency.
With a new subscription membership launching in mid-2023 AWEA plan to increase our capacity to build on the collective power of West Village during Fringe and continue to work with Fringe towards creating and anchor activation in Light Square to draw more patrons to take a walk on the west side in Fringe 2024.
