Adelaide City Council has initiated a pilot Shopfront Improvement Grant Program to encourage city businesses to get creative and enhance their street appeal.
If you own either a business or a property in the pilot area you can apply to Adelaide City Council for grant funding of between $1,000 and $6,000 to cover up to half of the cost of improvements to your shopfront. We’re looking for ideas that:
- enhance the presentation of a building or business
- contribute to amenity and a more interesting and exciting street experience
- make a creative or unique contribution to the streetscape
Financial incentives are available for a range of street-level improvements that contribute to imaginative and original shopfronts. Eligible works include repainting an external façade, adding greening, feature lighting or other interesting visual elements and removing clutter like roller shutters or unused signs. Further innovative ideas that help enhance a shopfront may also be considered.
Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the allocated funds for this first pilot grant program are committed.
