The 2019-2020 Executive Committee Members were elected at the Adelaide West End Association at the AGM on 14th August 2019 and office bearers were confirmed at an ordinary meeting of the committee on 28th August 2019
Committee Members volunteer their time, expertise and passion to the West End community and are all members of the Adelaide West End Association.
The Committee meets on the third Wednesday of each month at different locations throughout the precinct. If you would like to host or attend a meeting get in touch.
President – Andrew Wallace – University of South Australia 2009
Phone: 0400 489 079 – Email: firstname.lastname@example.org Andrew is a lecturer in Interior Architecture and Sustainable Design at UniSA.He has practiced as a designer in Adelaide, Sydney and London since 1984 and has been responsible for the design and delivery of projects ranging in scale from small consumer products to developing a design strategy for the London Underground system.
Andrew has a 20 year involvement in the music industry in Sydney and Adelaide in his capacity as jazz dance dj and was a formative influence in establishing the jazz and latin dance scene in both cities. In his capacity as an academic Andrew’s particular research interests are in sustainability, he is a pioneer of sustainable interior design and of late has turned his interest to communities of all scales, from workplace communities to precincts such as the West End of Adelaide. He continues to provoke discussion in regards to urban redevelopment in the city through both his teaching and research work and speaks nationally on the topic of sustainability and the west end.
Andrew has been a member of the AWEA Executive committee since 2008.
Vice President (2019) Chad Hanson- Electra House Hotel
Currently the General Manager of Electra House Hotel, Chad Hanson is an 18 year hospitality veteran having owned and operated a number is businesses in South Australia since the age of 23. Chad brings a strong emphasis on both environmental and business sustainability to the AWEA in 2019/20 along with an extensively diverse network and ambition to grow and support the West Ends hospitality industry.
Treasurer (2018) Geoff Barclay – Unison Housing 2014
Geoff has been involved with the local precinct since July 2012 with the delivery of the multi award winning UNO Apartments in Waymouth Street. This significant world first project has demonstrated the effectiveness of mixed tenure developments and the importance of Placemaking & Place Management for successful future projects in the Adelaide CBD and particularly the West End and how they impact on the local community.
Geoff has extensive Senior Property & Business Development Management experience spanning over 10 years with diverse property portfolios including: Residential, Commercial, Community Housing, Strata & Community Corporations & Trustee Properties. With a strong passion for people & place Geoff prides himself on delivering outstanding customer & client service across the Private, Government & Not for Profit sectors.

Tony Scrivener – Grand Chancellor Hotels 2017
Tony Scrivener is the current General Manager Adelaide for Grand Chancellor, overseeing the Hotel Grand Chancellor hotels within Adelaide. An award winning hotelier with more than 20 years hospitality experience has seen Tony work across Australia and overseas in leading small and large luxury hotel brands. In addition to running hotels, Tony also worked as a senior manager in two award winning hotel divisions in the corporate office. This role saw Tony responsible for acquisitions and construction, as well as overseeing the operations of multiple hotels, restaurants, pubs and function centres, throughout capital and regional areas around Australia.
Association wise, Tony is a member of CIPS (Chartered institute of Procurement Specialists) and prior to his relocation to Adelaide was an Advisory Board Member of the William Angliss Institute of TAFE. Tony now sits on the Adelaide West End Association Executive Committee and is a member of a number of other reference groups.

Ben Trewren – Youth Inc. 2018
Ben is the Partnerships and Business Development Manager at Youth Inc. on Hindley Street. Youth Inc. is a learning alternative, specifically for young people aged 17-24 who are looking for something a bit different! Formally registered as an independent, secondary school but with a different ethos and approach to mainstream schools. Youth Inc. puts a strong focus on practical learning, enterprise skills, and wellbeing. Youth Inc. is incredibly excited to be based in the heart of the West End.
For us the focus is on helping young people to identify their unique talents, and enabling them to make the most of those talents in the context of a life that matters to them. We offer a practical, real-world learning experience that combines SACE & VET qualifications with a project-based, action-learning approach. We draw on opportunities and resources found in the local community to develop their enterprise skills for work, business, and life.
For Ben, there is nothing that gets him more excited than the chance to generate new experiences and opportunities for young people, especially in his hometown of Adelaide. With a wealth of experience in community and international development projects, Ben has an unrelenting passion to generate real-world opportunities of personal and social change for young people. Ben is also a keen mountain biker, loves the Essendon Bombers and finds it very hard to pass up a Farmers Union Iced Coffee.

Jasmin Ilic – Kaffana
Jasmin Ilic is the Operations Manager for the Kaffana Group, overseeing Kaffana Restaurant, Sestra & Florence Rooftop Bar. Jasmin’s passion for increasing customer engagement and customer experiences was initiated from her own observations of the opportunities the West End presented. Jasmin’s experience working within the hospitality, communications and events arenas has her well equipped to bring this knowledge and enthusiasm to the West End. Jasmin is a proud Adelaidian, who has travelled the world only to be reminded of how special the precints such as the West End are. With this broad knowledge Jasmin strives to ensure exceptional customer experiences becomes the personal narrative to all who visit the West End
Andres Donoso – Fat Controller Club and Wunderhaus
Andres has 15 years of experience in management, hospitality, mining and financial industries, his strong passion and specialised business acumen positions him as a great communicator across all levels from large companies/organisations to Government and related entities.
Andres holds professional memberships with the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Family Business Australia, Golden Key International Honour Society, the Project Management Institute and the Civil Contractors Federation SA where he also serves on the Next Gen Committee.
